The Everglades is the largest tract of wilderness east of the Rocky Mountains. It is located in South Florida and home to some of the most rare and endangered species in the United States.

The motif provided is the Spoonbill. The Spoonbill is found along the south Florida coast. In the 1800's their wings were made into fans. In the late 1800's the hat trade took a major toll on the Spoonbill. The establishment of the Everglades had a positive effect on their population.
